Life without purpose is a dreary existence. Down deep we know we were made for a purpose bigger than ourselves. We were made for God’s purpose and the Bible makes it clear that we come into this world pre-designed with God-given abilities he has bestowed for his specific purpose of our lives. We are not a blank slate to be written on, a lump of clay to be molded by whatever forces. And if we have a design, we have a destiny to fulfill. As the author of meaning, the infinite God who designed us provides the only idea large enough to make our lives feel significant. Our destiny falls at the nexus of three circles—our gifts, our passions, and God’s purposes and timing.
